The Octo-Squatch is a bizarre cryptid observed in the summer of 1961 by truck driver Arquimedes Sanchez and a colleague of his, while traversing the Basque Mountains, in the Province of Vizcaya, Spain, circa 11 pm at night.

Biology[]

The creature was described as standing about 3 to 4 ft. tall (~ 90 cm to 1.2 meters) and looking like a hairy octopus, all covered in shaggy rust-colored fur, with at least four tentacles and a pair of round glowing eyes.

History[]

Upon sighting this strange beast, Sanchez stopped the truck immediately. The creature, while trying to protect its eyes from the truck's headlights, nevertheless remained on the same spot for the next several minutes. During this time, the driver tried to scare the monster away by repeatedly moving the truck back and forth towards it, stopping merely a few feet away each time. Even then, the Octo-Squatch was either unable or unwilling to make its escape. Sanchez and his partner refused to get out of the vehicle either, and eventually just gave up and drove away, leaving the unidentified creature behind.

Notes[]

  • This creature's nickname is obviously a reference to Sasquatch combined with the animal it resembles (an octopus). As such, it's the same format used for other cryptids such as Batsquatch and Sheepsquatch.
