Nutcrackers are a form of biomechanical creature found on the moons within the Thistle Nebula. Although not directly stated within records, it is possible to think their existence is man-made to guard a settlement, but currently they roam freely with no evidence of a creator known about.

Anatomy[]

At first glance, they appear as completely artificial: a humanoid figurine dressed up as a nutcracker soldier, including the uniquely opening jaws notable for nutcrackers. Upon closer inspection, much like the Jester and the Coil-Head, the nutcracker has organic material within itself: the most visible part of this creature's organic matter is its singular eye located within the nutcracker's mouth. The head and by extension the eye are capable of rotating 360 degrees, as if the head and body aren't attached to eachother by organic or inorganic means.

Behavior[]

Described within files as "guardians", the nutcracker is often seen patrolling a settlement or territory, looking for any signs of intruders. How it manages to remain notable of its surrounding is somewhat debated, as the only known sensory organ (the eye) is only visible when the nutcracker is stationary, whereas it conceals this eye when in motion. Even if unable to see, it doesn't seem to have any difficulty navigating an area.

All nutcrackers documented are armed with a double-barrel shotgun, which it appears intelligent enough to function properly and with little effort. If seeing an intruder, it doesn't hesitate to shoot with the weapon as if programmed to, but it is also able to attack with powerful kicks.
