The Nestene are a species of Great Old Ones who have are noted for their maliciousness, and their use of artificial lifeforms known as Autons.
Biology[]
The Nestene are primarily cephalopoid in appearance, but are capable of manifesting themselves as a disembodied intelligence which can alter the molecular structure of plastic and animate plastic objects as they please. Following the Last Great Time War they were known to take the form of a sapient pool of molten plastic.

- Although the plural form "Nestenes" has been used in the series, they are also collectively known as the "Nestene Consciousness", alluding to their gestalt intelligence.
