The Nanophytes are primitive starfaring species of reptilian/avinoids. Much like the Vullards, whom reside in the same galaxy as they themselves, they are scavengers, collecting valuable junk left behind by others. Unlike the Vullards, Nanophytes are aggressive and violent little creatures.

Biology[]

Nanophytes are small reptilian like creatures, about the same size of a Lombax that move about on two small legs. Nanophyte's skin is either red or yellowish orange, with the yellowish orange subtype appearing to be in a higher rank then the red subtype.

Nanophyte heads are beak-like, except Nanophyte beaks have sharp teeth present in the mouth. Nanophytes also have light blue eyes and antenna on the top of their head.

Nanophytes also had small sails on their backs, though their purpose is unknown.

History[]

Following the mass exodus of the Lombaxes into another dimension in order to escape Emperor Percival Tachyon, the Lombax homeworld of Fastoon lay empty.

The leftover Lombax technology that could be found within the ruins of planet Fastoon attracted the Nanophytes, who settled on the planet in the hopes of gaining access to the valuable Lombax tech. The Nanophytes were not keen on sharing, and the species would aggressively attack intruders who intruded on their scavenging.

Ratchet and Clank encountered dozens of Nanophytes scavengers during visit of Fastoon, who had somehow managed to reactivate a dormant Lombax Raritanium Mine.

When Ratchet and Clank returned to Fastoon, the Nanophytes were nowhere to be found, possibly being chased away by Tachyon's Imperial Army.

Technology[]

The Nanophytes were known use strange machines that were partly buried underground that would "spit" out more Nanophytes to protect key areas.

The Nanophytes were known to use powerful hand grenade like weapons that carried some sort of noxious agent, causing severe damage to those unfortunate enough to be hit by one.

Despite being a starfaring species, Nanopytes were also known to use primitive weapons, such as clubs to attack potential enemy.
