Mirinoians are a sapient humanoid species native to Mirinoi, and the guardians of the Quasar Sabers.

Biology[]

Mirinoians are externally indiscernible from Humans. They are known to have empathic abilities, even enabling them to communicate with creatures such as Galactabeast Zords. They are also known to sometimes receive visions of the future through their dreams.

Culture and society[]

Mirinoians, prior to the arrival of Human colonists on Mirinoi, lived in a technologically primitive society. While they guarded ancient artifacts known as the Quasar Sabers, and are known to have warriors in their ranks, they are peaceful, seeking to ensure that the Sabers remained in the right hands. While the Mirinoian system of government is unknown, they are known to live in tribes which have a single elder figure acting as a leader. Said elder leads a ritual where they recount the legend of the Quasar Sabers before having their strongest warriors attempt to pull the Quasar Sabers from the stones. Their clothing commonly consists of simple handmade robes and headbands. Despite their low-tech lifestyle, they are known to be able to quickly adapt to high-tech environments, and allow members of other species, such as Humans, to settle on Mirinoi.

Mirinoians watching their warriors attempt to pull the Quasar Sabers

3000 years ago, alien relics known as the Quasar Sabers were placed in a stone on Mirinoi, and the Mirinoians became the guardians of the Sabers, prophesizing that one day, great warriors would pull the swords from the stone. Mirinoian warriors attempted to pull the swords out in rituals, but none succeeded. Sometime before the turn of the century, a young Mirinoian named Maya and her friend Shondra attempted to pull the swords, but were unable to. In 1999, after the fall of the United Alliance of Evil, an adult Maya attended another Mirinoian ritual, but then, Mirinoi was attacked by an alien named Furio, representing the warlord Scorpius. Furio attempted to pull the Quasar Sabers himself, but was unable to, grabbing Jera, the tribe's elder, to learn how to remove the sword. Jera defiantly told Furio that only one who is chosen could pull the sword. Meanwhile, Maya fled from Furio's Stingwingers into a wormhole which suddenly opened, transporting her to Earth's moon, where she encountered Humans of space colony Terra Venture. The Humans, named Kai Chen, Kendrix Morgan, Mike, and Leo Corbett, fought off the Stingwingers, and Maya explained what happened to her. Kendrix, Mike, and Leo decide to follow her, but Kai stayed behind. Going back through the portal, the group got to Mirinoi, met with another Human known as Damon, who managed to bring Kai Chen along. Maya, Damon, Kai, Kendrix, and Mike pulled the Quasar Sabers, becoming Power Rangers, with Maya becoming the Yellow Ranger. Furio, angered that he could not get the Sabers, began to petrify the planet. The Rangers barely escaped, with Jera urging Maya to run. Although Maya got away, every other Mirinoian was turned to stone.

Maya, effectively the last of her species for the duration of Terra Venture's flight, joined the Human colony, helping the Rangers acquire the powerful zords known as Galactabeasts, and believed that as a team, they could take down Scorpius' forces. She adapted to life on Terra Venture surprisingly well, fighting against various monsters with the Rangers, including one that looked down on her for being female and another that took the form of Shondra, sometimes receiving clairvoyant dreams concerning alien artifacts such as the Lights of Orion or events happening to other Rangers or their enemies. Maya had built a close friendship with Kendrix, who was later killed destroying a monster known as Pyscho Pink, and was replaced by Karone, a KO-35 inhabitant who reformed from the service of evil, although Karone and Maya also formed a friendship. Eventually, after barely escaping the Lost Galaxy, an uncharted galaxy ruled by a space pirate, Terra Venture reached Mirinoi, and was forced to crash on its moon, pursued by Trakeena, Scorpius' daughter, and her army of Stingwingers. After finally defeating Trakeena, the Rangers landed on Mirinoi's surface with all the Human colonists, where the Wolf Galactabeast asked Maya to follow it, leading her to the clearing where the Mirinoians were frozen, and where the rock for the Sabers is. Realizing that they had returned to Mirinoi, the Rangers return the Quasar Sabers to the stone. With the swords returned, the Rangers' powers returned to them, and the energy was released in a wave that revived both Kendrix and the Mirinoians. The Mirinoians celebrated alongside the Humans, the two groups living together on Mirinoi from then on. Years later, Maya would venture to Earth to stop a reinvigorated Trakeena, was seen in a database of previous Ranger teams on at least two occasions, and traveled to Earth once more to battle against the last forces of The Armada alongside every other team of Power Rangers.
