Metaluna Mutants are an artificially created insectoid species, bred by the inhabitants of Metaluna to perform menial work.
Biology[]
Metaluna Mutants are plantigrade Human-sized bipeds with bulbous heads. Each hand and foot consists of a pair of curved claws. Their blood is red.
According to the Metalunans, the Mutants are similar in many ways to some of Earth's insects, although much larger and endowed with higher intelligence. Their exact sapience level is not known, although they seem to be at least semi-sapient.
Following the meteoric bombardment that converted the planet Metaluna into a blazing radioactive sun, the Metaluna Mutants are most likely extinct.

- This species was created specifically for the film and is not present in the original novel.
- A Metaluna Mutant makes a cameo appearance in the film Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
- In Men in Black 3, an alien which appears to be a Metaluna Mutant was present at Coney Island in 1969. While this could just be someone in a costume, the presence of the Byvoid Roman the Fabulist might alternatively mean that this individual was in fact not from Earth.
- A Metaluna Mutant appeared in the comic strip Brewster Rockit: Space Guy on July 17, 2023.
