- The name "Maxatomar" is based on Maxwell Atoms, who created the Grim & Evil franchise, consisting of the two Cartoon Network series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Evil Con Carne.
- Maxatomars are said to be the funniest alien species in the universe.[1]
- Correlating with this species referencing Grim & Evil, Billy, the only Maxatomar seen on-screen, is physically inspired by Billy from Grim Adventures.
- It is implied that the Omnitrix contains Maxatomar DNA.
