Martians were a sapient species of insect-like creatures from the planet Mars, which became extinct over five million years ago.
The Martians were an advanced civilization and lived peacefully side by side with the reptilian Jovians, who colonized Mars in prehistory. Both species have gone extinct at around the same time, but the cause of their extinction is unknown.
