The Malvians are a human species from the planet Malvie.
Biology[]
Descendants of a human colony ships from Terra, they were not so different from humans.
History[]
The Earth Federation had attempted to reestablish contact with the Malvians. Tensions were already high between the two branches of man, as the Malvans believed the Earthmen to be monsters and outsiders. Things only worsen when the Earth embassy granted refugee to a woman who was accused of bedding with a demon. The Cult of Jacris capitalized this event and took arms and attacked the embassy using their Servant of Wrath to disable the security robots and kill all the diplomatic staff. Only one member of the embassy escape protecting the woman leading him on an adventure to find the father of her child.
Culture[]
The Malvians were a little more than backward to their Earth cousins. Since being cut off from the Earth Federation during the Great Expansion, the settlers on Malvie regressed and developed a culture that was still at the point of intolerance, religious fanaticism, and torture of unbelievers.
The Malvians were still at the level of feudalism and still used gold as a currency. Most of the population was mostly concentrated in the Kingdom of Urriakan, ruled by King Edruse. Though despite being ruled by a sovereign, the king's authority was at times challenged by the Cult of Jacris, who promoted the fear of an all-powerful deity. The Jacris in question according to Federation ethnologists, was a probable distortion of Jesus Christ. Unlike on Earth where Jesus was associated with as a god of love and kindness, on Malvie he was a fierce god, and who had an absolute hold over the population, and who's faith was maintained by the Preachers. The Preachers themselves were mandated by the Guardians of the Faith which was a branch of the Cult of Jacris similar to the Inquisition, probing of the kidneys and hearts, and elimination of the doubtful faithful. In addition they possess an entity known as the Servant of Wrath, which by some technological means is able to disrupt machines rendering them useless though the Preachers dress it up as being a miracle of their god to maintain power.
