Maltruant is a rouge, augmented Chronosapien[1] from an unknown planet and an enemy of Ben Tennyson.

Appearance[]

Maltruant mostly resembles an ordinary Chronosapien except his armor is black, his eyes and the hexagonal piece of glass on his chest are red, his arms have large cannons embedded in his hands, and he has metallic eyebrows and a red grill plate for a mouth.

Powers and abilities[]

Being a Chronosapien, Maltruant shares many of the same abilities as the rest of his kind. However, his augmentations have made him more powerful.

Maltruant can fire time rays from either his hands or chest that can either age other beings to the point of crumbling to dust, restoring them back into existence, sending them across time and space, or reverting them to a previous state while simultaneously immobilizing them.

Maltruant can travel through time and across parallel dimensions due to his experience with his abilities. As such, he has some level of knowledge on each dimension's inhabitants.

Maltruant has a degree of enhanced strength greater than ordinary Chronosapiens, being able to throw a pipe hard enough for to become heavily embedded into a wall and overpower a Revonnahgander.

Maltruant possesses chronopathy, giving him a fine-tuned sense of time and allowing him to determine the exact time an event has taken or will take place and for how long.

Due to being robotic in nature, Maltruant can survive in the vacuum of space.

Maltruant can sense and reverse ripple effects created when another Chronosapien uses their powers.

Maltruant is capable of slowing down time in a way that looks like he is running very fast.

Because he is a technological being, Maltruant can merge with a Galvanic Mechamorph, with the resulting fusion having more powerful time rays and improved speed and stamina.

Weaknesses[]

Maltruant shares many of the same weaknesses as ordinary Chronosapiens.

Despite his enhanced strength, Maltruant is physically weaker than Sir Tok-Tic the Persistently Unpunctual.[1]

Maltruant's time rays are useless against anything diamond-related, such as Petrosapiens, as diamonds do not age. They are also useless against gumballs, as time does not have an effect in them.

Maltruant's powers are useless in places where there is no time, such as before the beginning of the universe or in a timeless void.

The use of Maltruant's powers can create a ripple effect which can be sensed and reversed by another Chronosapien or a Chronian.

Depending on the time, Maltruant can experience fear in the presence of Toepick's Species.[1]

Maltruant can be temporarily disabled if they are exposed to a large electromagnetic pulse, such as that from a solar pulse.

History[]

Maltruant is the mastermind behind the Time War, as he caused his own kind to go rogue[1] and is bent on ruling all of time and existence. His main goal in is to recreate the universe in his image.

Maltruant was defeated before the universe began, at the beginning of time itself. Paradox took him apart and hid his incapacitated individual parts throughout space and time where his followers could not find him. However, Maltruant would slowly "pull himself back together" over time, eventually reforming the majority of his body.

At some point, Maltruant pressured a rogue Celestialsapien into traveling to Nega Ben's timeline and wiping out the Galvan race after the Negatrix was created.[1]

Ben Tennyson and Rook Blonko of Earth Prime first became aware of Maltruant when Ben 10,000 mentioned that temporal beasts were on a cross-dimensional rampage.

Maltruant sought to repair himself and become whole again, seeking to regain control of the time streams. To this end, he hired a Merlinisapien named Subdora and a cyborg Human/rhino-hybrid named Exo-Skull to steal the "Key to Time" for him.

Maltruant assigned the Cerebrocrustacean scientist Dr. Psychobos with repairing his body, knowing that Galvan leader Azmuth would never assist him in any dimension. After successfully being restored, he turned on Psychobos, easily defeated Ben Prime and Ben 23, and left the three of them at the mercy of Mad Ben while taking his other minions with him to restart the Time War.

At some later point, Maltruant met up with the Chronian Eon in a pocket dimension, where he received two Time Beast eggs and declared that he would win the Time War before it would even begin. He also created portals for Subdora to retrieve Exo-Skull and another of his components.

Maltruant came to Ben 10,000's timeline to steal the Anihilaarg and the Dwarf Star so he could create a more deadly weapon. Despite Ben Prime and Rook showing up to assist Spanner (who was in fact Ben 10,000's son Ken Tennyson) in defeating Subdora and Exo-Skull, Maltruant banished Eon off-universe after his usefulness came to an end and began traveling back in time.

Due to Ben and Rook's interference, Maltruant made a pitstop in 1773 where he bartered transport repairs from a young Vilgax in exchange for a Chronosapien Time Bomb. Traveled back to the very beginning of the universe, Maltruant snuck aboard the Contemelia's ship and switched their Anihilaarg with his own.

Maltruant was eventually defeated by Ben Prime as Feedback and his components were scattered across time and space by Professor Paradox. This enclosed himself in a never-ending time loop of being defeated, rebuilding himself, and being defeated again without knowing it.

Notes[]

  • Maltruant looks different compared to other Chronosapiens because he has augmented himself, but to call his enhancements "cybernetics" is not really accurate.[1]
    • His augmentations consist of clockworks stolen from legendary greater beings, cosmic powers, and science so significantly advanced it appears magical.[1]
  • Maltruant's goal of destroying the current universe and remaking it in his own image is very similar to that of Time Trapper from DC Comics.
