The Magnet Men are a hostile species from the Magnet Planet.
Biology[]
The Magnet Men are a species of entirely mechanical beings made of white metal with vaguely humanoid and rotund body shapes. Their bodies are covered in bolts which keep their seams and joints together, and while most members of the species have hands, a few instead have horseshoe magnets in place of a right hand that granted them the ability to attract metallic objects towards them.
Despite their robotic appearance and nature, they are living beings and require sustenance to survive, but because of their metallic composition, they can only subsist on metals, mainly iron, gold, tin and silver. However, as metal is a non-renewable resource, Metal Man slowly exhausted their metal supply over the eons until none was left, nearly driving the species to extinction and forcing them to invade other planets for their metal supplies in order to survive.
Culture and society[]
The Metal Men are a technologically advanced society that enjoy nothing more than eating metal, but because of their metal shortage, they became a hostile species that resorted to creating weapons, such as their powerful Gravity Gun, to pull away beings and metal from other planets, kidnapping others in order to use them as hostages in exchange for metal or using the Gravity Gun to forcefully steal metal and anything else from a planet if their demands weren't met.
Due to the Gravity Gun's great power, it could only be used sparingly, as full use of its power could eventually pull a planet away from its orbit and destroy it. Because of this, the Magnet Men instead only stole some metals and kidnapped natives of a planet to ask for a ransom of metal to avoid needlessly destroying a planet, only doing so if their demands were not meant, but for the sake of survival, they were willing to commit planetary genocides in order to obtain metal, using their Gravity Gun to pull an entire planet away from its star system and closer to their own for mining, and with a targeted planet becoming unstable as buildings crumbled and oceans became deadly, with the targeted planet eventually becoming a frozen and lifeless world upon leaving its star.
As with many other species in their region of space, Magnet Men fear the power of the Flying Sorcerers.
History[]
When the Magnet Men threatened the world of the mighty hero Underdog, they bit off more than they could chew when the great hero discovered the flaw in their Gravity Gun and defeated the entire race before eventually destroying the Gravity Gun and saving his planet.
Although things seemed grim for the Magnet Men following their defeat at the hands of Underdog, it appears that they discovered an alternate and more peaceful means for obtaining sustenance, as one lone Magnet Man had seemingly discovered a method of agriculture and was seen growing his own garden of unidentified crops, presumably having developed or discovered some form of crop that was rich in metal to ensure their survival.
