Alien Species

Magicats, like their name indicates, are a sapient species of magical feline creatures from the planet Etheria.

Biology[]

Magicats are felinoid creatures which alternate between bipedal and quadrupedal stances, preferring to fight on two legs and run on four. They have digitigrade legs, four-fingered hands, three-toed feet and a tail. Fur coloration can be red, grey, brown, orange, white, cream, or lilac. Their eyes can be either green or yellow, and have slit-shaped or round-shaped pupils.

Magicats can fire green magical beams from their eyes which can be used to teleport people and erase memories. Their magic can also be used to create illusions, make objects invisible, or impersonate other beings.

Like the Qadians, Magicats are agile creatures capable of jumping more than twice their own height in the air, and have claws that help them climb steep surfaces.

Culture and society[]

Magicat society is ruled by a Queen. In the absence of the Queen, decisions are taken by a Council.

After the Horde invaded Etheria, the Magicats went underground to escape the evil regime.

Appearances[]

  • She-Ra: Princess of Power, s01e62, "Magicats" (1985)

Notes[]

  • The Magicats and the Qadians are almost certainly related and might even be the same species. Besides the physical resemblance, both races are known to utter the phrase "By the whiskers of Saz!" as an exclamation.
    • Differences include the number of fingers on their hands (Qadians have five fingers, while Magicats have four) and the fact that Qadians have never demonstrated magic powers of any kind.
    • Although no Qadian has ever been observed to walk quadrupedally onscreen, the possibility that they do so would help explain why the Qadian Kittrina was attracted to Battle Cat and considered him handsome, despite Battle Cat's species being quadrupedal.
