Ma'alefa'ak in the comics is the evil twin brother of J'onn J'onzz, according to the 33 issue of Martian Manhunter (v2) the name means "darkness in heart". The creature was mentioned only briefly in issue 14 of the tie-in comic to the Young Justice television show There is no indication that this creature exists in any other DC continui.
