The Luminars are a sapient telepathic race which resembles floating cylinders of light and are able to travel through space at FTL speed. They are a friendly species and hail from the planet Lumen, in the Sirius System, where they feed on the light of their home sun. Their atomic structure is based on silicon, with atmospheric oxygen being toxic to them. When in an oxygen environment they need to wear transparent cylindrical shells for protection. They are known to keep Lumen Cats as pets.
