Locust Boomers are a subspecies of Locust known for being larger and more durable than most Locust, but also very unintelligent. Boomers typically serve as the heavy weapons specialists of the Locust Horde, and have earned their namesake from their tendency to shout the word 'Boom!' before firing their weapon.
Variations[]
- Boomer: Standard Boomers armed with boomshot grenade launchers. They are so named for shouting 'Boom' before firing.
- Butcher: Not intended for combat, these Boomers serve as Locust chefs. They are lightly armoured and equipped with cleavers, likely to cut through the armoured hides of Rockworms.
- Flame Boomer: Boomers armed with Scorcher flamethrowers. They also carry fuel tanks on their backs, presumably for additional ammunition, which explode when ignited by gunfire.
- Grinder: Boomers armed with mulcher miniguns.
- Mauler: Boomers specialising in melee combat, these Locust are armed with maces and boomshields. There also exists an elite variant.
- Tremor: Boomers armed with giant hammers, Tremors are typically tasked with planting beacons to summon Seeders.
