Lexiconians are a humanoid species with several Kryptonian-like powers, hailing from Lexicon. The only known Lexiconian on Earth, raised by Humans, is Becky Botsford, better known by her superhero identity of WordGirl.
Biology[]
Lexiconians are externally indistinguishable from Humans, aging at a similar rate, though not much is known about their inner workings, as there is only one known member still around, WordGirl, and our scientists have yet to get a blood sample from her. As seen with WordGirl, Lexiconians display abilities such as super speed, super strength, flight, invulnerability, enhanced intelligence, space survivability, and the ability to comprehend the chatter of Lexiconian apes, all seen since a young age. Like Kryptonians, Lexiconians can have their powers nullified by material from their homeworld, known as Lexonite, which can also harm their linguistic skills while making them light-headed. This implies that Lexiconians may be normally as weak as a Human on Lexicon, albeit with poorer linguistic skills, although it is also implied that Lexonite only becomes harmful to Lexiconians after flying through space in the form of a meteorite. It is unknown if Lexiconians are related in some way to Lexiconian monkeys.
Culture and society[]
Little is known of Lexiconian society, but a notable known aspect is that Lexiconians have many superhero-like figures within their society, some of whom have their exploits recorded in books of combat strategies or immortalized through artwork. Lexiconian cities consist of multiple skyscrapers built under clear domes for unknown reasons, possibly protection from a potentially inhospitable environment or for localized weather control. The Lexiconian Air Force, which handles space travel, is manned not by Lexiconians, but by Lexiconian monkeys. It is unknown if other branches of the Lexiconian military are also managed by the monkeys, or if Lexiconians themselves serve any role in their own military, although possibly as commanders. Lexiconian spacecraft are yellow and red in color, with insignias and components built in the shape of five-pointed stars.
Lexiconian texts and WordGirl's superhero costume bears a similar star-shaped insignia, and Wordgirl's costume's colors and insignia are reflected by the clothing of some other Lexiconian heroes, although individual designs vary. Some Lexiconian heroes have been seen wearing fully sealed spherical helmets and uniforms of varying colors. Lexiconian spacecraft are known to have spacious libraries within them, where several statues and a mural of Lexiconian heroes and Lexiconian monkeys are kept, with books depicted with the heroes, implying a strong emphasis on language, reading, and general knowledge within Lexiconian society, a fitting trait given the name of their homeworld.
Technology[]
Lexiconian technology is far more advanced than Human technology. This includes spacecraft capable of traveling from Lexicon's galaxy to the Milky Way, bearing round bodies with red landing gear, a rear entrance, and three thrusters, one on each wing and one on the rear of the main body, just above the entrance. The wing thrusters are red and rather small compared to the main thruster, which has a star-like shape. These ships, built for the Lexiconian Air Force, appear built for Lexiconian monkeys rather than Lexiconians themselves. The interiors of the spacecraft are fairly spacious, as if they are built for a fairly large crew, despite normally being flown by a lone pilot, bearing at least two levels, and stocked with a safe for a single valuable book. Lexiconian safes resemble the planet Lexicon itself, being spherical in shape with a star marking and two rings, opened with the push of a button.
