Lash Whips are Tyranid bio-weapons with a will all their own. They have a small body housed within a bony tube which forms the handle (slightly similar to the extinct orthocerids lineage of cephalopods) while the rest of the body is made up of a trio of tentacle-like ropes of muscle and sinew, ending in bony hooks. They attack foes with the intention of strangling and binding them to make them easier prey for the Tyranid to control, all the while slicing off flesh from its victims to consume, presumable bringing each tentacle back in turn to a mouth hidden within the handle.
