Manufactured by Hahne-Kedar, the LOKI Mech is a security robot designed to provide support to organic security forces when staffing becomes an issue, or to fulfil full-time combat roles which organic combatants would not realistically be assigned to. Despite their intended use as lawful security robots, LOKI Mechs have been known to be used as expendable cannon fodder by mercenary groups.
Cheap to manufacture and purchase, LOKI Mechs are typically armed with small-arms weaponry and have proven effective in both non-lethal civilian removal and simply killing any hostiles who they may recognise as unauthorised to be present in their area of operations. LOKI Mechs also possess very simple networked programming, enabling even an inexperienced programming to assume control over several LOKI Mechs at once.
Despite their convenience as cheap support units, the simplicity of the LOKI Mech's programming renders them vulnerable to hacking from enemy forces, making them a potential threat to their legitimate commanders. They are also known to be inaccurate when discharging firearms, wasting significant amounts of ammunition, and they lack any capacity for strategy or generally thinking beyond obeying their programmed commands to the letter.
LOKI Mechs are capable of limited speech, albeit only through prerecorded audio. For this reason, it is not uncommon for a LOKI Mech to actively attempt to kill an enemy while politely requesting for them to vacate the area.
