Krelman's species are an unnamed humanoid species with an odd way of drinking. One member of this species, Krelman, was a lonely drifter on Tatooine.
Biology[]
Members of this species are externally almost entirely identical to Humans, with the exception of an extra finger on their right hands, and a flat-topped protrusion atop their heads that bears a mouth-like orifice. This orifice has no visible lips or teeth, and appears to be perpetually open. Members of Krelman's species are capable of drinking through this orifice, but it is unknown if they can consume solid food through it. It is also unknown if the "normal" mouth of Krelman's species can be used for consuming substances, but it is known that they are capable of speaking with their "normal" mouths, with their cranial orifice appearing to be mute. Due to the placement of their cranial orifice, it is unknown where their brains are located, although they may be in a ring shape around the orifice's gullet. While the lifespan of this species is unknown, their members can become visibly elderly, sharing traits with elderly Humans, such as grey hair. They can grow hair on their heads like Human, even around the rim of their cranial orifice.
History[]
At some point before 1 ABY, an elderly male member of this species, named Krelman, lived on the Outer Rim desert world of Tatooine, where he felt lonely and depressed. Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, during 1 ABY, Krelman visited Chalmun's Cantina in Mos Eisley, where he became stricken with the Human night shift bartender, an elderly Human woman named Ackmena, especially by her farewell words. Hooked on her words, Krelman gained a renewed sense of purpose, and returned to the cantina a few days later with some flowers, on a night when Imperial personnel were broadcasting footage of the cantina as an example of a world without morals. Seeing Ackmena, Krelman quickly sat by the bar, trying to talk to her and drinking through his cranial orifice. He tried to confess his growing love for Ackmena, but she rejected him, explaining that she never meant anything intimate by the farewell, and left to attend to other customers. Krelman did not believe her, until he heard her say the same farewell to another customer. Saddened, Krelman stayed at the bar, even while Imperial soldiers entered to order all customers to leave, as a mandatory system-wide curfew had just been put into effect. After all the other customers left, Krelman remained in the cantina, and tried to give his flowers to Ackmena again, finding her less reluctant now that everyone else had gone.
