The Klum (pronounced "klume") are an extraterrestrial race of reptilian beings characterized by extreme aggression against humanity and exotic, unified fluid-based technology.
It is unknown precisely when they arrived on Earth, but by the year 2020 the Klum have established themselves as the dominant race across the entire planet, and are said to have killed billions of humans. The Klum seeing humans as pest have brutally enslaved those that they captured or surrendered. Though life under the rule of the Klum is described as a living hell as the aliens conduct horrible experiments on their captives and breed humans to be used as incubators for their young.
Appearance[]
The Klum are bipedal, digitigrade, six-limbed (two arms and two legs with two additional prehensile arms) creatures with a reptilian appearance similar to that of crocodiles, snakes, turtles and insects, standing approximately 8 to 9 feet/240 to 270cm. Their mouths are lined haphazardly with sharp spines (akin to that of a leatherback turtle), and possess a forked tongue which is likely used to smell. Each side of their head contains small clusters of 9 small black eyes. Nothing is known about their homeworld.
Abilities & Technology[]
The most notable ability of the Klum is to control the cerebrums and limbic systems of human beings, and even others like rats and insects. The only mechanism that seems to be necessary for this is for the alien to make eye contact with a human being. Resistance fighters were quick to fabricate "brain-block" devices that prevented the Klum from controlling a human mind, though both sides were aware that these devices could only be produced in very low quantities.
The entire race makes use of a black-colored fluid-like substance (called "Swax" in the film's concept art) that seems to act as a programmable matter and encompasses nearly all facets of their technology, from building structure, vehicles and tools to weaponry, and even atmospheric processing. The Klum employ massive, towering "megastructures" comprised entirely of the fluid to create strongholds and manufacture their methane-based atmosphere - individuals also carry some of the fluid on their bodies to provide them with breathable atmosphere and even act as body armor.
