Junkheaps are a subspecies of multi-component Earth Transformer Soldiers from the planet Earth.
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
Junkheaps share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform from three individual robots into a Waste Management garbage truck.
Powers and abilities[]
Junkheaps share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians, namely Multi-Component Transformers.
Similar to other KSI Cybertronians, Junkheaps possess "hypno-transformation", in which they explode into a cloud of living metal particles and reform into either their robot or alternate modes.[1]
Weaknesses[]
Junkheaps share many of the same weaknesses as other Cybertronians.
Culture and society[]
Manufatured by Kinetic Solutions Incorporated, Junkheaps were originally designed as elite combat drones programmed to defend Humans from invading Cybertronians. However, when Galvatron took control of KSI's prototypes, they were reprogrammed into Decepticons.
As a result of Galvatron removing KSI's original programming, the Junkheaps would develop their own personalities over time.
History[]
After the Decepticon invasion of Chicago in 2013, Kinetic Solutions Incorporated began reverse engineering Cybertronian corpses in an attempt to exploit the reconfigurable properties of their living metal and create man-made Cybertronians for military use. Over the next five years, the company built as many as fifty remote-control Cybertronian drones including several sets of Junkheap units.
When Megatron possessed KSI's prized prototype Galvatron in 2018, he reprogrammed the Junkheaps into Decepticons to help him liberate a protomatter Seed. Arriving in Hong Kong, the KSI Decepticons engaged the Autobots in a climactic battle, during which Hound gunned down a green Junkheap unit, killed a white Junkheap unit using his K-bar knife, and took out a yellow Junkheap unit with his Energon grenades as he and Bumblebee defended the humans. Shortly after Lockdown was killed by Optimus Prime, at least one more set of Junkheap units were caught in the blast radius of one of Lockdown's grenade.
In the years that followed the battle of Hong Kong, many surviving KSI Decepticons were left to their own devices in Megatron's absence. On one occasion, an all-yellow Junkheap unit got into a fight with an all-green Junkheap unit and later a green-and-white Junkheap unit in Hong Kong. Several of these Junkheap units sought to embrace their freedom by allying with the Autobots, albeit without directly defecting to them. Many were either killed or captured in skirmishes with the Transformers Reaction Force while others relocated to friendly countries such as Cuba.
At least two Junkheap units were known to be residing in Cuba, where they would play friendly games of volleyball. At some point, they presumably played volleyball with Seymour Simmons and Topspin after the former concluded his phone call with Sir Edmund Burton.

Notes[]
- The robot modes for Junkheap's components were revealed on Waste Management's Instagram account.[2]
- Due to their extremely alien physiology, even by Cybertronian standards, the CGI models for the Junkheap robots are reused for several mechanoid aliens imprisoned in cages throughout Lockdown's Knight Ship.
- Partially recolored versions of the Junkheap models also appear in the prologue of Transformers: The Last Knight as generic Cybertronians, possibly renegade Decepticons.
