Jovians are an unnamed humanoid species from Jupiter, with the strange trait of shrinking instead of growing.
Biology[]
Jovian adults are Human-like humanoids, although they are only about a meter tall, with their proportions scaled to their size. Males and females are known to have similar appearances, but females are known to have greenish, curly hair in an afro-like style. However, Jovian infants are considerably larger than Jovian adults, standing taller than most Humans, and bearing a body shape and visage closer to that of an adult Human. While Jovian infants act like Human babies, wanting attention, care, and play, they are considerably more dangerous, as they possess more strength than a Human adult, and are just as durable. Strangely, at least by Human standards, Jovians do not grow as they age, but rather, shrink. It is unknown when they start or stop shrinking. By Human standards, birthing an infant over twice the size of the parent would be impossible, leaving a few possibilities: Jovians conceive and birth children before shrinking, possibly after a period of "normal" growing with age to accommodate a large infant, or Jovian reproduction is not like Human reproduction, as in possibly being through eggs or some other means that does not involve the infant developing within a parent. Jovians also age slower than Humans, aging one year in 11 Earth years, thus making it likely that their lifespan is 11 times longer than that of Humans.
Culture and society[]
Little is known of Jovian society, but it is known that at least some Jovians have direct, friendly relations with Humans, enough to be willing to let Humans look after their infants for some time. Jovian infants, due to their size, sleep in large cribs and play with oversized toys, usually clothed in yellow one-piece bodysuits and bonnets. Jovian adults wear green tunics with light green bands around their elbows, and a greet others with a gesture like a Roman salute. Adult Jovian males wear green pants with two light green bands and gold boots, while adult Jovian females wear green skirts in place of pants.
History[]
At some point in the late 20th century, a Human man somehow met a Jovian couple, likely during a visit to Earth from the Jovians, befriending them. In the 1980s, the Jovian couple asked the man to take care of their infant son for a time, sending their son to Earth and providing the Human with a crib and baby toys of appropriate size. While the man attempted to care for the Jovian infant, the infant soon created chaos in the man's house as he played around, breaking furniture and throwing objects across rooms. Eventually, the man managed to get the Jovian into his crib, just before the man's daughter and her husband showed up. He attempted to tell the couple of the Jovian, but they did not believe him until they saw the infant for themselves. The Jovian infant stood up upon seeing the Humans enter, bouncing on the crib as the man explained aspects of Jovian physiology to his daughter and her husband. Then, the infant began cooing for play, but when the husband approached him, the infant playfully hit him on the head, his enhanced strength knocking the husband down, prompting him and his wife to run out of the room, leaving the man behind. The couple then summoned El Chapulín Colorado to help them with the infant, who did not believe their claims of a giant infant until he too saw the Jovian.
Chapulín was frightened of the Jovian, nervously trying to touch him and getting scared of a raspberry the infant blew at him. Then, the man told Chapulín that the infant's parents were coming soon to pick up their son, much to Chapulín's shock, leaving Chapulín to keep the Jovian infant entertained. However, the infant's method of playing was slamming oversized toys over Chapulín's head, making Chapulín hit the Jovian with his mallet in retaliation, making the Jovian cry and slap Chapulín, throwing Chapulín to the floor and making him cry out in pain, which the infant found amusing. When Chapulín went to go give the Jovian a piece of his mind, the Jovian infant then broke the bars of his crib and crawled out, standing up and forcing Chapulín against a wall, wanting something to play with. Chapulín tried giving the Jovian a large block, only for the Jovian to hit Chapulín on the head with it. When Chapulín threatened to punish the infant, the Jovian then slapped Chapulín hard enough to send him crashing through the door. Chapulín then ran back into the room, determined to pacify the infant, only to be smacked back outside, then continuously slapped around when he got back inside. However, he eventually managed to pick up the Jovian, which calmed him down. At that moment, the man returned and informed Chapulín that the Jovian parents had just arrived. Chapulín, frightened by the news, dropped the Jovian infant and ran to the door, expecting the Jovian adults to be gargantuan in size. However, the Jovian parents then walked through the door with a salute-like greeting, showing they were only half the size of a Human, calling their son over, much to Chapulín's relief and amusement.

Notes[]
- The 1982 variation of "Los bebés ya no vienen de París, ahora vienen de Júpiter" was the third variation of the premise of El Chapulín Colorado encountering and having to care for a Jovian infant. However, the other two variations were revealed to have been dreams Chapulín was having after being knocked out by a toy saucer. While the Jovian infants depicted in those episodes were similar to the Jovian infant of this episode, as in being Human-like in appearance yet larger than Humans in stature, the Jovians of the previous variations started out small enough to fit in one's palm, and merely kept growing due to increased metabolism. Additionally, Jovian infants could grow to truly gargantuan sizes in a short amount of time, and Jovian adults were not seen. Due to the ending of those episodes, it is unclear if those Jovian variants truly exist in the universe of El Chapulín Colorado, although the mention of Jovians and Chapulín's ability to speak the Jovian language in other episodes implies they may be. Granted, the anthology nature of the series may make that assumption false, but Jovians are depicted fairly consistently, unlike Martians.
- Jovians, as depicted in the episode, are Human-like and appear suited to a terrestrial environment, rather than the actual gaseous environment of Jupiter. As Jupiter is not shown in the episode, it is unknown if Jupiter in the episode has an Earth-like environment with a solid surface, like how Mars and Venus were portrayed in certain episodes, or if the Jovians are merely native to a moon of Jupiter rather than Jupiter itself.
