The Illo are a sapient race of machines from the Endless Universe.

The Illo believe that life did not spontaneously emerge from nothing, but was in fact the work of a creator. They believe that this creator or the Divine Will created the galaxy containing a set of limited resources. Therefore, the reason that only the best adapted will survive. It is the Illo credo that the Survival of the Fittest must be enforced. Their goal is to reach wipe out those species they deem unfit to survive in the name of the Divine Will.
