The Hrelin are a species native to the planet Relin in Sector 345.
Biology[]
The Grelin are humanoids with light green skins with rodent like snouts and dark hair.
History[]
The Hrelins once warred with another tribe known as the Grelins over a religious artifact. Green Lantern Guy Gardener was sent to mediate peace on Relin. Upon seeing that the relic was just a piece of garbage he tried to make both factions see reason at how stupid they were for killing each other over something so trivial. The Green Lantern's power awed the Grelins and Hrelins who they saw as the Prophet, immediately ceased their war with each other and began worshipping him. Guy seeing that it would be easier for the natives to accept that he was the Prophet then tried to make the tribe live in peace, however his ring lost power for a mysterious reason, de-powering him and making him lose his universal translator.
Starting from basics, Guy now a religious icon had to learn the Relin language to communicate with them. However it was not without obstacles as some of Guy's mispronunciations led to the tribes to hunt down the Drelken in just a year leading to many deaths. In five years the two tribes now subservient to Guy, scribed his words in the Book of Guy. His words occasionally sparked religious fights, Guy Gardener having once said "Only jelly worth having is grape", thus the tribes persecuted those that disliked grape jelly starting the Jelly Schism. Guy luckily managed to defuse the schism and tried to make the tribes cooperate with one another, by introducing fooseball. Both tribal leaders realized that Guy was the only one keeping their tribes from killing themselves and desperately tried to keep the human alive.
After twenty-five years Guy succeeded in creating a civilization where the Grelins and Hrelins lived in harmony. It nearly ended why an disgruntled youth called that Guy was wrong about the relic and wished to have the artifact be re-honored. It opened a new can of worms when the people began to chant for the heretics death. Guy tried to preach that they should tolerate each other for their beliefs however the situation became even more complicated when Lobo showed up who the locals mistook for as the new prophet.
Culture[]
The Hrelins worship a sacred relic that is believed to have been given to their world by a being known as the Wind Walker. With Guy Gardner as their new prophecy it led to the creation of the Book of Guy, with many editions.
