Horrors are lesser Chaos Daemons affiliated with the Chaos God Tzeentch. Resembling an oversized mound of pink flesh with a giant mouth and dissarrayed limbs, Horrors are known to be highly contradictory, maddening but also talented in the use of psychic powers.
Overview[]
Like other denizens of the Warp, Horrors are manifested from the the psychic essence comprising the Immaterium. In the case of the Horrors, they are formed at the will of Tzeentch, Chaos God of change and sorcery. As such, Horrors are naturally talented in varying degrees of psychic power, from conjuring and hurling fireballs to manipulating the minds of others. The most powerful Horrors, known as Heralds of Tzeentch, typically assume the titles of Changecaster, Fateskimmer or Fluxmaster depending on their specialisation.
Horrors are known to be highly excitable and known to wildly cast their spells with reckless abandon. They are also surprisingly resistant to damage and can regenerate missing limbs with ease. In the event a Horror is destroyed, it will split into a pair of smaller, blue Horrors. In contrast to their parent pink Horror, blue Horrors are much more depressed and grumpy, and have been known to attack each other immediately upon manifesting. When a blue Horror is destroyed, it may split yet again into another pair of smaller, yellow Horrors known as Brimstone Horrors. So named for their horrendous stench, Brimstone Horrors are often spiteful and vindictive over their awareness of their low standing, and are known to primarily use fire in their psychic abilities.
As expected of Tzeentch, his minions are often highly contradictory and confusing. This is demonstrated by the Horrors by a pair of them known as the Blue Scribes, tasked with cataloguing every form of psychic ability in the galaxy. One of them, P'tarix, can record their findings but is unable to read or use them, whereas the other, Xirat'p, can read and use the spells they discover but has no understanding of them.
