Hidoman Squid are a nascent native sapient species from the planet Hidoman.

Biology[]

Hidoman Squids are invertebrates that measure about four feet from tentacle tip to top head. In the past few thousand years the squids have developed a rudimentary amphibious capability. They can survive out of water for about 12 hours, though it could be longer in humid conditions. Possessing ten tentacles, they are bilaterally symmetrically with excellent vision even out of their native water environment. Hidoman Squids have thick rubbery skin and two large eyes on each side of their elongated conical head. They have the ability to change the color of their skins to match their surroundings and are incredibly quick creatures.

Culture[]

Whilst the transplanted human descendant Hidoman are struggling to rebuild their civilization after their Goa'uld patron rendered 93% of their population dead from the skies, an existing species from the oceans of Hidoma is emerging. The Hidoman Squid are the true native intelligent life of the planet. Already the Hidoman have slowly crawled from the seas and made their first forays unto land. Crawling to the marshes the invertebrates have made their first steps towards sapience by creating their written language, carving their symbols onto trees. The species have some limited tool use and are very clever creatures. They are also omnivorous, though they prefer fish and have recently begun hunting in packs of 5-12 members.
