The Hemnoids are a sapient alien species.
Biology[]
Buddha-like parody of a human being. Hemnoids are a good eight feet in height, enormously boned and fantastically padded with heavy-gravity muscles. Coming from a world with one-fourth again the gravity of Earth.
A Hemnoid is far superior in strength to a Human, as in comparison to the best Human athletes, they can throw a javelin shot two hundred and twenty feet, and make a standing broad jump of twenty-eight feet. According to the Hemnoid they attribute this to their heavy-fat diet and also hard physical labor.
Culture and society[]
Despite physically resembling Humans, the Hemnoids' psychology is far removed from the former. They have an instinctive streak of cruelty that they inflict into their own people, especially the elderly.
While in Human mores it is immoral to make someone else suffer, according Hemnoid mores it is not only moral, but eminently respectable. It is a skill, a high art. What they find barbaric is blunt violence, preferring instead the use of more slow sadistic torture.
