The Guild Navigators are a post-human species with hyper-awareness due to mutation caused by Spice Melange
Biology[]
The species has mutated beyond any semblance of Humanity, the only thing human about them is their eyes, they have a body similar to a Ningen with an enlarged cranium, which allows them to make advanced FTL calculations. They require to be constantly be surrounded by Spice Melange, which expands their consciousness and causes their mutations.
History[]
Thousands of years before the Guild was founded, machines and A.I where prevalent and where widely used for labour, studies, and FTL Travel, until someone used the thinking machines to take over the world, soon after began the Butlerian Jihad, and after all the machines where destroyed, it was written in the Orange Catholic Bible 'Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind'.
When the Spacing Guild was founded, the Navigators used Spice to expand their consciousness, and assist them with warping space, eventually the Navigators practically became their own species, hardly looking human anymore.
