The Groubos are a sapient aquatic species whose individuals are linked in a hive mind. They are huge armored beasts, eternally resting on the seafloor feasting on seaweeds.
The Groubos are completely blind and survive thanks to a symbiotic relationship with a species of telepathic medusa-like creatures called the Zuurs, which float around them and regularly touch them with their tentacles, chemically informing the Groubos of everything that happens around them. They are also one of the races present in the multi-species space station Point Central.
