Great Apes are creatures which the Terrans of the Koprulu Sector believe resided on Earth, likely due to a misinterpretation of the data found within ATLAS from information about the movie King Kong, with the Terran citizens taking the footage a little too literally. They are "known" for climbing buildings and swatting down primitive Terran aircraft and are presumed to be a species of gorilla simply affected by massive island gigantism.
