Glurrgs are a non-sapient species of short-statured bipeds native to the planet Naboo. They're domesticated and employed as working animals by the Gungans.
Biology[]
Glurrgs are amphibianoid bipeds, and appear to be evolutionary relatives of their Gungan masters. Like the Gungans, they're skilled swimmers, and have short eyestalks. However, they're much smaller than Gungans, and have squat bodies, flat faces and proportionally short arms.
Cultural significance[]
Despite being non-sapient, Glurrgs are intelligent enough to be taught to operate technology and perform work that would generally be performed by sapients, such as tending farms or working in mining facilities and construction areas, as well as using their swimming abilities to fish.
