Gigantions are a subspecies of Cybertronians from the rocky, organic-covered Earth-like planet Gigantion (sometimes known as the Giant Planet).
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
Gigantions share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, though they are enormous in size and stature and generally transform into heavy-duty construction vehicles.
Powers and abilities[]
Gigantions share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.
Culture and society[]
Existing in a state of perpetual daylight, Gigantion is an enormous mechanical megapolis, a vastly upscaled analogue of Cybertron, but constructed mostly by the Gigantions. Despite their imposing size and strength, they are not much given to violence or warfare. Most are gentle and peaceful, desiring only to hone their skills and build ever grander structures.
Gigantions work closely with the smaller Mini-Cons, who can tackle the delicate tasks too refined for the heavy manipulators of their Bulk comrades. Construction is the order of the day for any proper Gigantion.
According to Gigantian tradition, old cities are to be left alone. The population constantly moves to unbuilt areas, constructing new cities, never returning to the old ones. They even go so far as to dump the data on those old cities from their computers. The Gigantions continually rebuilt their cities right on top the old ones until the planet was completely enveloped in a vast series of artificial layers, complete with artificial foliage, simulated skies, and day/night cycles.
At its heart, though, the original planet remains, well-preserved and even supplied with artificial light, but long forgotten. With it lies the forgotten starship the Lemuria, the vessel that carried their (comparatively) diminutive forebears to their new home as part of the galaxy spanning space bridge project. At the time the planet was re-discovered during the crisis with the Unicron Singularity, Gigantion was led by the gigantic Metroplex.
Language[]
The dominant language of Gigantion is practically identical to a Scottish dialect of the English tongue. The Mini-Cons beep with a Scottish accent, no doubt.

Notes[]
- The original idea for the Gigantions involved colossal Junkion-like robots with a scrap aesthetic. As such, the planned explanation for the planet's endless cycle of building was that Gigantion was supposed to become the hub of the galaxy-spanning space bridge network. Therefore, they were building to accommodate the millions of Transformers that would soon populate and pass through the world.
- This concept went unmentioned in the Transformers: Cybertron cartoon, with the residents of Gigantion constantly building for no particular reason.
- When asked about the accents in Cybertron during the cartoon creation panel at BotCon 2006, David McDermott revealed that the Gigantions' Scottish accents were inspired by Scotty, the "greatest sci-fi engineer".
- Crumplezone was listed as part of the roster of "Aligned" Star Seekers slated to appear in an early version of Transfomers: Prime's third season.[1][2]
- Given his as "just the tiniest giant, an outcast of his world",[3] the character would have been portrayed as a Gigantion rather than a Velocitronian much like his Cybertron counterpart.
