Gastropodians are a race of humanoid slugs from the planet Lumaca. Multiple subspecies exist, but differences between them are minor.
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
Gastropodians have three fingers on each hand and three toes on each foot. Their arms and tails have several dark spots, which may be scales. They also have black eyes with white pupils.
Gastropodians' skin varies in color from light peach to dark brown. Multiple Gastropodians from the same parent will often have wildly different skin tones.
The antennae on their heads can withstand being pulled with moderate force and suffer no obvious damage afterwards. Based on this, is possible they are vestigial. Similarly, their tails serve no obvious purpose.
While Gastropodians have variable body mass, their lower arms contain more fat than their upper arms.
Being closely related to slugs, Gastropodians have green blood and no bones. Salt does not actually harm them, but if consumed in large quantities can cause discomfort to their stomachs.
Powers and Abilities[]
Gastropodians' skin is covered in a layer of mucus, allowing them greater mobility than they would otherwise have. This mucus also helps them adapt to planets with warmer climates.
Their lack of bones allows them to stretch to twenty times their normal height.
Culture and Society[]
All sapient species within the Gastropodians' native galaxy form one collective society. While some species have designated roles within this society, Gastropodians, seemingly, do not. Whatever culture they might have had prior to interplanetary contact is unknown. Despite all these, a few things about their culture can be inferred.
Due to their asexual reproduction, Gastropodians will often give birth to and raise their children without ever marrying. Despite this, many will participate in romantic relationships.
While religion plays a major role in daily life for citizens of the galaxy, Gastropodians are significantly less religious than most other species. In some cases, young Gastropodians can grow up without learning their galaxy's creation myths.
