Alien Species

The Gardeners are a type of the terraforming lifeforms that were sent from the organic planet unrelated to and in our Solar System, the Iris. They tend to dwell beneath the surface of the Earth, in an area referred to as "The Gardens," which can be anywhere from 40 to 11,000 feet below the surface.

Biology[]

While much larger than the Woodcrawlers, the Gardeners are cephalopod-like creatures in color of black and brown with their singular eye glowing yellow through the dark such as the cave. The red, fleshy root "generator" can produce/seed any infectious Roots, which is located underneath their main body. They possess their six spindly long appendages used to traverse terrain. It is unknown if they are a subspecies of the Woodcrawlers, or are entirely separated as part of the multi-species of the Iris.

These creatures can also adapt into underwater, changing their skin into grey and light brown and having their "generator" shrinking into it, but still can produce the Roots.
