Fred from Jupiter is a sapient humanoid alien in Andreas Dorau's 1981 Neue Deutsche Welle song "Fred vom Jupiter" and its music video.

Description[]

Fred from Jupiter is described as a muscular, attractive male extraterrestrial with shiny, golden hair and a sharp look. In the music video, it is also revealed that his skin is of green colour. He unintentionally had to land on earth because his spaceship ran out of fuel.

Fred is described as being very seductive, even at such an extand that is was possible for him to succesfully charm all women living in the city near his landing site. However, this trait of him angered all the envious men, because all women only had eyes for Fred.

They forced Fred to leave earth. Although he did not understand the reason for the antipathy against him, Fred followed their demands and left earth, much to the misery of the women. To comfort them, Fred promised to come back one day.

It is unknown if Fred's species is able to reproduce with humans, although it is implied when all of the women fall for him.

It is also possible that Fred is homosexual, asexual or simply not attracted to human women as he does not understand the men's anger and antipathy against him. Although he is described as being very attractive and every woman's dream, it is never clearly stated that Fred actively tried to seduce a woman. Instead, the women seem to simply be attracted to him just because of his appearance, beginning with the lyrical speaker who falls in love just by looking at him.
