Fossilizers are a subspecies of skeleton-like bestial multi-component Cybertronians from the planet Cybertron.

Biology[]

Anatomy[]

Fossilizers share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they both transform into skeletal prehistorical beasts and split apart into bone-like weapons.

Powers and abilities[]

Fossilizers share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians, namely Multi-Component Transformers.

Fossilizers can transform into skeletal prehistoric beasts ranging from dinosaurs to mammals.

Being infused with primordial energy, Fossilizers can split apart into F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology-compatible weapons for their comrades.

Weaknesses[]

Fossilizers share many of the same weaknesses as other Cybertronians.

Culture and society[]

Fossilizers share a similar culture to other Cybertronians.

Technology[]

Fossilizers are compatible with the Fossilized Osteo-Skeletal Shield Integration Loadout Technology (or F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology), an ancient and highly advanced technology that can unleash the primal power of beasts. This technology was discovered by the Maximals and Predacons during their battles alongside their Autobot and Decepticon ancestors on pre-Ice Age Earth.

Notes[]

  • The Fossilizers may have been inspired by the scene in the Beast Wars: Transformers episode "Beast Wars (Part 1)" where the Predacons' DNA scanner is seen scanning buried fossils to generate beast modes for Megatron, Dinobot, and Terrorsaur.
  • Although Vertebreak and Dracodon do not completely disassemble in the same way as the Deluxe Class Fossilizers, designer Mark Maher referred to Dracodon as a Fossilizer when revealing the character.[1] This indicates that the term applies to any bestial Cybertronian with a skeletal beast mode.
  • Hasbro PulseCon 2020's promotional poster for the War for Cybertron: Kingdom toyline features different designs for Vertebreak and Ractonite, as well as two unnamed Fossilizers that were designed as concepts but were ultimately not made into toys. One of them is a Smilodon that would have been released as a Deluxe Class Maximal, evident by it being used as weapons and armor by Optimus Primal. The second is a crocodilian of some kind that would have been released as a Core Class Predacon.
  • The War for Cybertron: Kingdom toyline's precedent of Autobot-allied Fossilizers would imply that Spindle and Masterdominus are Maximals. However, this has not been addressed by any marketing materials for the Legacy toyline.
