|Behind the Scenes|
|Created by||Clark Ashton Smith|
The Formless Spawn are black amorphous creatures which dwell in the temples of Tsathoggua and act as servants of the old god; attacking anyone who attempts to loot their chambers.
At rest, they appear like a thick viscous opaque dark-colored substance. When they rise to attack, they will create appendages and other structures ranging from serpentine long necks and heads to grasping arms and tentacles. They often shift into elongated beasts, scurrying over a dozen feet. Their intellect is not known, and they might have been spawned or willed into life by Tsathoggua.
