The Floopsnoot Matriarch is a very large creature discovered on AR-Y 26. It is described as the mother of all Floopsnoots.
Anatomy[]
The floopsnoot matriarch is arguably the largest natural lifeform discovered on AR-Y 26, towering over most creatures on the planet including its own kind. Its body is elongated and worm-like, with a large singular eye forward-facing from the main head, and a trunk made up from its upper lip. Its body is covered in numerous spikes and opening protected by an amber-like coating, with several miniscule wings where the head is on the body. Due to its very large size, however, it isn't capable of much movement.
Behavior[]
the floopsnoot matriarch, in a sense, is similar to the queen ants or termites of earth in terms of its relationship with other members of its species: primarily in charge of asexual reproduction and such reproducing more members of its genus while smaller species protect it. Curiously, this kind of reproduction connects to numerous subspecies beyond its own (the smaller floopsnoot documented are classified as "Floopus droopus" rather than "Floopus familias"), and studies reveal that this being is solely responsible for the population of its genus: if the matriarch would die, then the entire genus would fall into decline and face extinction.
How a floopsnoot matriarch comes into being is unknown.
