The Flaxans are a species that originate from the planet Flaxan in an alternate dimension that is parallel to Earth.
Biology[]
Flaxans are light-green humanoids with dark eyes and two long antennas protruding from their heads. In their home dimension, time passes much more quickly. Consequently, when Flaxans try to interact with Earth for extended periods, they age rapidly and ultimately perish. However, after hundreds of years of technological advancements—equivalent to just a few months on Earth—the Flaxans developed technology to safely navigate the time differential and cross into Earth's universe. Interestingly, when inhabitants from Earth's dimension visit the Flaxan dimension, their aging process is halted.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Flaxans apparently possess no natural powers of their own but are equipped with a wide arsenal of technology and weapons. Because of their home dimension's faster temporal rate, a few minutes on Earth is years for them. This allowed them to have a great amount of time to study their foes and create powerful tools to use against them, though this also initially meant that they would age at a much faster rate whilst on Earth. However, they were eventually able to use their technological advancements to solve this problem.
Culture & Behavior[]
The Flaxans culture on their homeworld is a one focused mainly on nothing but war and intergalactic conquest. As a completely ruthless, merciless, relentless, extremely xenophobic, and extremely cruel, and very war-like species, the Flaxans have no interest in either negotiating or peacefully coexisting with those they all view as inferiors on the planets that they invade without warning. The Flaxans also have no qualms with mercilessly and indiscriminately killing, wiping out, and harming innocent unarmed civilian men, women, and children alike as the Flaxans themselves revel in hunting down and murdering innocents merely just for sport and pleasure.
True to their belligerent nature, the Flaxans are so focused on conquering Earth despite their many humiliating defeats, in fact it's a cultural obsession that their kind cannot see past.
History[]
The Flaxans were encountered by a team-up patrol by Omni-Man and Invincible. The Flaxans brought an entire army to attempt to conquer Earth. The two heroes intervened to stop them, and even though the Flaxans used overwhelming numbers, eventually they were forced to retreat as the invaders began to rapidly age. Before leaving the Flaxans abducted Omni-Man taking him back with them.
Omni-Man returned within a day on Earth, though the course of eight months had passed for him while in the Flaxan dimension. The hero claimed that Flaxans had enslaved him, but a week before he returned to Earth, he led a revolt against his captors and regained control of his powers, allowing him to fight back. Later he met with a team of scientists who were part of a rebellion and facilitated his return to Earth.
Some time after Omni-Man abandoned Earth after it was found out he had murdered the Guardians of the Globe and a Viltrumite spy sent to prepare Earth to be conquered, the Flaxans attacked Earth again, though this time were unhindered by the temporal side effects of being in Earth's dimension. The new Guardians of the Globe attempted to drive back the Flaxans but found themselves outnumbered. When the Flaxan commander announced that on behalf of the Flaxan Empire, Earth who pay for the transgressions against the Scourge of the Flaxan Empire, Invincible and Omni-Man, revealing that the latter devastated their world when they tried to enslave him and were back for vengeance.
For them the Flaxans spent centuries plotting and scheming to conquer Earth, learning its language and studied Omni-Man's clothing to study the properties of his dimension. They finally developed the chrono-bands, devices that enabled them to counteract the side effects of rapid aging in Earth's dimension. As soon as the commander delivered his message, Invincible and the Guardians of the Globe began destroy the bands causing the invaders to age and turn to dust, forcing the survivors to flee back through their portal.
The Flaxans made a third attempt to conquer Earth. The Guardians of the Globe once again assembled to fight them. Initially the heroes were unable to determine how the Flaxans were counteracting the deaging process, but Robot deduced that their tanks were emitting fields similar to the chrono-bands on a large scale for the invaders. Once the vehicles were destroyed, the heroes had the Flaxans on the run. Robot was more concerned with the Flaxans as their invasions attempts spanned a few short decades for them and he feared that they would eventually learn from their mistakes and conquer Earth. Thus he and Monster Girl decided to head through one of the portals of the escaping Flaxans to put an end to their invasion once and for all.
The two ended up becoming prisoners of war, by choice until Robot could devise a way to return to their home dimension. Monster Girl was forced to fight as a gladiator for the enjoyment of the Flaxans.
