Isis is a shapeshifting female alien of unknown species and a close associate of Gary Seven: a 20th century Human raised on a technologically-advanced alien planet.
When on Earth, Isis spends most of her time in the form of a black cat, and communicates with cat noises, although Gary can still understand everything she's saying.
Her origins and species are completely unknown, although it's possible that she might have been raised on the same world as Gary: a planet home to an advanced and benevolent species which monitors other civilizations and is aware of future events.
Given that these aliens prefer to abduct other species and train them as agents to act on their behalf, out of fear that showing up "in alien forms" would be disruptive to non-spacefaring societies, it's highly unlikely that the aliens themselves are shapeshifters like Isis. This makes it more likely that Isis might be a descendant of abductees from another world, just like Gary.
