The Fiery Yellow Wollywog is a species of Amphituber recently discovered to survive being engulfed in fire, a mutation unheard of in any other Amphituber before it. It was discovered in dried parchlands by Captain Olimar.

Description[]

As the name suggests, they hold a deep resemblance to the Yellow Wollywog, but its coloration appears more orange and red than yellow. These Amphitubers, living in a habitat with little water, had adapted to instead cover themselves in fire for protection, in a similar manor to creatures like the Fiery Bulblax. They're found in similar habitats to other fire-breathing creatures (Fiery Blowhogs, Firesnout Beetles, etc.)

Fyywollywog

a documented juvenile Fiery Yellow Wollywog. Due note the lava-like secretions along its back.

Fiery Yellow Wollywogs seemingly gain their fire-resistant ability very early in life, not long after gaining their first legs and able to move around on land. As Fiery wogpoles are never seen as of yet, it's speculated they begin lives like any other wogpoles, but adapt to land later in life due to the rarity of water to begin with.

Notes[]

  • Its scientific name is faulty, as it should be "Amphicaris frodendum volcanus", not "Volcanus amphicaris frodendum", since it is a subspecies of the Yellow Wollywog.
    • Though perhaps "Amphicaris volcanus" would be more appropriate, as "Amphicaris frondendum" is no longer valid.
