Fenrir is an forest breed of Garm.
Biology[]
A distinct offshoot of the Grendel breed. It was created after Skald Thatcher defected from the Einherjar military, having come to the conclusion that the war between humanity and the Garm were pointless. Adopting a nihilistic vision, Thatcher infiltrated a Garm hive and inserted his mind into the hive collective, adopting the name Loki with the intent to begin Ragnarök as prophesized in Norse myth. In keeping with his identity of Loki, he created three new alpha Garm to lead his campaign against his own people, each named after the children of the Norse trickster god, Jormungandr, Fenrir, and Hel.
Fenrir was released on the forest moon of Khal, weeks after its sibling of Jormanungandr was killed by Task Force Grendel. The alpha Garm was menacingly huge, bedecked with mighty claws and scything blades. It resembled a cross-breed of the UltraGarm and the ridgeback. It had double-hinged jaws, cloven feet and was much nimbler than its predecessors. Whereas Jormungandr could only influence Garm swarms, Fenrir could directly call them to do its bidding.
