Fairies are a magical race of humanoids from a timeless dimension accessible by Fairy Mounds guarded by mushroom-like sentries.
Biology[]
Contrary to the belief of some people, Fairies are human-sized and wingless, although they do have pointed ears and magical abilities. At least some individuals have blue hair. Fairies are capable of having children with humans, and their offspring may pass on some of their genes to their own children, resulting in that their hybrid descendants may be born with blue hair as well.
In their native realm, Fairies and other creatures may appear eternally young, as time behaves differently inside their mounds. Outside, however, they age just like human beings, indicating a comparable lifespan. Like humans, their hair may become grey in old age.
The inhabitants of Tofoten believe that horseshoes can repel Fairies.
Culture and society[]
The people of Tofoten generally regard Fairies as dangerous creatures which abduct human children. In truth, the Fairies themselves don't seem to be hostile, merely isolationists, although the risk of getting lost inside their interdimensional mounds is a very real one.
Fairy society is apparently ruled by the mysterious Fairy Entity, who seeks balance and demands the prices and bargains to be paid for the use of her magic, the power of which far transcends that of the Fairies.
