Eyungs are an extinct species of imperialist humanoids experimented on by Celestials, native to a Jupiter-sized planet in the Andromeda Galaxy. Eyung is the name of their planet, the baseline branch of Eyungs, and their Eternal branch. The last of the Eyungs was Grom, the Eyung Over-mind.
Biology[]
Eyungs were externally identical to Humans, although Eyung Eternals stood at 3.5 meters tall, weighing 340.19 kilograms, and were naturally stronger, faster, and more durable than Humans, able to overpower creatures over twice their size. It is unknown if Eyung Latents or Deviants were any different externally or internally. Eyung Eternals lived for incredibly long periods of time, although they do visibly age, implying that their lifespans were finite.
Culture and society[]
Eyungs were an imperialist, xenophobic warrior race, with the Eyung Latents, Deviants, and baselines being enslaved and exterminated by the Eyung Eternals, who were described as inherently savage despite their many advancements. Eyungs were ruled by a monarchy that set out to conquer other worlds, sanctioning warfare as a way to keep their own population numbers in check. Races from conquered worlds were enslaved, with slaves and creatures from captured planets used as enemies for Eyung warriors in gladiatorial games, as the population of Eyung grew bored of constant victory. The Eyung gladiatorial games lasted until a worthy planet to conquer was found, and Eyung gladiators competed to be declared the champion of champions. Within the arena, Eyung gladiators wore light armor and saluted officials presiding over the games with a gesture resembling a Roman salute. It appears that slaves sent to fight in the arena could win their freedom, but it is unknown if any were successful in besting an Eyung warrior. If Eyungs were unable to conquer a planet, they would simply destroy it, but Eyungs were willing to put millennia of fighting into attempts of conquering a given planet. After millennia of easy conquest, Eyungs became overconfident, ironically leaving themselves vulnerable to counterattacks from sufficiently advanced powers. Eyung clothing often consisted of robes, with the Eyung monarch wearing yellow robes with armored shoulder pads and a yellow round helmet. Eyung soldiers wore armored exosuits, normally with green torsos and bronze helmets and limbs.
Technology[]
Eyungs had incredibly advanced technology, capable of extending their lifespans and making them immune to all illnesses. Eyung spacecraft, capable of crossing star systems, are shaped like rocket ships, with their smaller starfighters shaped more like jets, all with a single thruster. Most notably, Eyungs had the technological capacity to merge the minds of every living Eyung into a single being, utilizing synthesizing chambers. The being who gains all the Eyung minds, known as the Over-mind, needed to incubate in deep space for eons. To accomplish this, Eyungs developed a cannon-like transportation device known as the Interstellar Beamer, capable of sending subjects across galaxies.
History[]
Before the formation of the Sol System, Celestials came to Eyung, a Jupiter-sized planet in the Andromeda galaxy. The Celestials experimented on the native Eyungs, making Eternal, Latent, and Deviant branches out of them. The Eternals of Eyung soon slaughtered or enslaved the other Eyung races, taking over the planet. They developed highly advanced technology, granting themselves immortality and gaining the capacity to travel across space. Due to their own savage natures, the Eyungs launched interstellar campaigns of conquest, with their government taking advantage of the wars to keep Eyung from becoming overpopulated. They quickly overpowered all races they came across, enslaving or exterminating them, with Eyung itself never being attacked, and Eyung military forces only knew victory. At some point, they developed a technology capable of merging all their minds into a single being, but tabled it as a last resort. Growing bored of the nonstop victory, Eyungs created death games in gladiatorial arenas, where they pitted their strongest warriors against slaves and powerful beasts from conquered worlds. One gladiator, Grom, was one of Eyung's greatest warriors, rising to the rank of champion of champions after single-handedly besting a fully armed battalion of slaves. Shortly after Grom won his title, an Eyung campaign destroyed a planet in the Gwydion System, discovering an inhabited Dyson Sphere in the same system, known as Gigantus, inhabited by the pacifist Gigantians, who were also modified by the Celestials into Eternals.
The Eyungs promptly turned their sights on the Gigantians, Grom leading an invasion of the planet with great initial success. However, the sheer size and population of Gigantus made the campaign drag out, with the Gigantians soon rallying to defend themselves, getting better at warfare with each battle. After millennia of fighting, the Eyungs began suffering repeated defeats on Gigantus, prompting them to destroy the planet with antimatter Reaction Bombs instead and retreat. Although the bombs struck, a Gigantian military armada managed to escape the planet's destruction, bringing war to Eyung for the first time in its history. Due to the Eyungs' overconfidence, their defenses were not strong enough to hold against an invasion, and Eyung was hit by Gigantian Reaction Bombs, also triggering its destruction. Before Eyung could be destroyed, the Eyung emperor had all surviving Eyungs enter synthesizing chambers, transferring their minds to Grom, then launched Grom beyond the Andromeda galaxy to develop into the Over-mind, vowing that the Over-mind will one day conquer the universe to avenge Eyung. Grom became the only surviving Eyung, and billions of years later, awoke in the Milky Way, using a protective spore-like covering over himself to construct a spaceship. He flew to invade the nearest inhabited planet, which was Earth.
