Alien Species

Europans are the native sapient inhabitants of Jupiter's satellite Europa.

Biology[]

Europans are short-statured herbivorous bipeds, about 3 to 4 ft in height, with enlarged lungs to compensate for the thin atmosphere. Like an insect, their bodies are protected by a tough chitinous exoskeleton which shields them from the rapid temperature variations and rough weather. Talon-like claws help them to navigate the rocky terrain of their homeworld. Their large ears are folded when not in use, and their eyes have chitinous lids to protect them.

Culture and society[]

Some Europans live in small cities built out of solid slabs of volcanic rock. As with the Callistonians, the low gravity of their world permits them to use enormous blocks in their architecture. These communities are relatively small, with no more than a few hundred citizens each. Other cities, such as Oor, are built out of plastics.

Europans have domesticated giant centipede-like creatures and flying insectoids which are used as mounts.
