The Eleos are a dimensional-traveling race of giants.
Biology[]
Eleos are towering giants with armored bodies. Their have translucent glowing arms with seven fingered hands and faceless chrome-dome heads.
Adult Eleos have displayed the ability to manipulate realty, transport themselves through other dimensions and even travel through time.
After a study of a young Eleos, it’s revealed that the species powers are not physical but psionic. The relatively young Eleos are subconsciously able to manipulate matter on an atomic level: allowing various superhuman feats as simple as heating or freezing the air, see through objects, fly, render themselves virtually indestructible, possessing super strength and heightened senses, and make opponents more susceptible to damage. In adulthood a fully aware adult Eleos they can arguably alter probability, see through time and reverse entropy,
History[]
Thirty-five solar cycles prior to the rampage of the superhero The Plutonian, two Eleos were assigned to survey the human race.
The pair followed procedure, finding a remote area to construct a quantum-channel data-streaming unit. Though upon arriving on Earth, the Eleos were overwhelmed by the emotionally rich and complex species, which was humanity.
While finding human emotions to defy formulaic expression, they were unable to abandon their construction, they instead they decided they needed a new perspective and thus the pair combined their energies to create a living probe, a young human child, that would be designed to wander amidst the native populace and sample it attributes and mirror its emotional spectrum.
The Eleos left studying humanity, wrongly believed that they were homogenous and erred, leaving themselves vulnerable. Whilst the aliens studied humanity, they were being studied by the Asian militaries. In fear of them, the militaries developed a lethal radiation field that would contain the pair. The aliens were attacked and found themselves contained in the radiation field. In truth the radiation could have been penetrated by the pair, but they refrained from releasing themselves as doing so would unleash a devasting wave of destruction, should they attempt, endangering the natives, something which the aliens were unwilling to do, even to their captors.
Unknown to the pair the probe that they sent would have an impact on the human world. The probe which was spirted away was drawn to a woman who was consumed by grief for a child. SO powerful was this yearning that the probe, which first started as a ball of light, flew into the arms of the woman.
Her desire reshaped the probe, turning it into a baby boy. While a touching story, there was a dark truth to what happen. The woman did indeed lose a child, and was in grief over it, but her desire was not a hopeful wish, but one of redemption. The woman was in fact the murderer, having killed her own baby in an overdose. Additional she was mentally unbalanced, due to loneliness and isolation.
And while she considered the boy she received to be a gift, she was unable to move beyond the past of killing her first child. Her insanity intensified when the boy began to display superhuman abilities, such as his invulnerability which rendered him immune to any danger. And while it proved her newly adopted son was special, his abilities made the woman relive her secret shame over and over. Unable to bear it anymore, the woman attempted to kill the baby multiple times, failing each time due to his invulnerability,
The woman took her own life in an attempt to gas herself and the baby in a car. She lost her life, by the baby had survived and was found by first responders. The baby was out into the foster care system, and as he grew his powers manifested. The boy would however be passed from foster family to foster family who were scared of his abilities.
One such family though had taken the boy in, ignoring his oddities with the father even inspiring the boy with a set of morals and aspirations to become a superhero. However that life ended in tragedy after the father learned the boy had withheld knowledge that his wife had a tumor, and yet choose to keep it secret. The knowledge led to the parents to suicide.
Disowned once again, the boy which then forced the boy run away to hide in the wilderness for a time. When he reached adulthood the boy had become a man, and took on the identity of The Plutonian, becoming a paragon of good. Though admittedly the hero did his heroics as a form of self-gratification and validation.
While Plutonian did his job as a hero with honors and distinction, he slowly began to go mad, due to the never-ending self-destruction of humanity. His final tipping point for him was when his own girlfriend Alana Patel exposed his secret identity, causing him to lash out and go on a rampage, killing most of the human race and even his own allies in the superhero team the Paradigm.
Due his powers, Plutonian became feared as a god to the survivors. There seemed to be no way to stop him, until the Vespa returned to Earth and incapacitated the Plutonian, as part of a bargain they had with one of the deceased heroes that Plutonian murdered. The Vespa then took the hero away, promising to forever imprison him to keep the universe safe.
Peace was restored, allowing humanity to rebuild. However Plutonian proved too much for even the Vespa. Despite having he rendered imprisoned in a mine, his mind retreating to an alternate reality of his own making, the Vespa realized their folly for trying to tame a mad god,
To keep their empire safe, the Vespa then banished him to Gehnom, an alien insane asylum in the heart of a star. There Plutonian slowly regained his sanity, and broke through the levels of security of the asylum, gaining new allies through the inmates.
The Plutonian managed to escape thanks to the hubris of Modeus, a supervillain who was in love with the Plutonian and Qubit, the Plutonian's former teammate. When the Plutonian returned to earth with his comrades and began a wave of terror.
In desperation, China, Japan, and the US launch their plan, releasing two towering creatures from a hidden facility, causing widespread destruction and billions of death. The Eleos upon being free create a small memorial to their human friend Qiang, before parting the sea to reach Plutonian.
The pair managed to restrain him, and took him to 10^100 years into the future at the edge of the end of the universe, where Plutonian's powers were inert. They intended to leave him their as a way to amend their mistake. Though he appealed to them to stay and explain his existence. The parents of the hero, relented as they felt they owed him an explanation.
However as they interacted with him the giants while understanding Plutonian was a child, slowly began to realized how sinister and manipulative he was. Not believing he desired redemption, the Eleos left him where he was. His imprisonment was short-lived when Qubit arrived to free the Plutonian.
Culture[]
Eleos are are a race of gatherers and caretakers of all spacetime's knowledge. For generations the Eleos ventured out to the lower and higher dimensions, seeking to learn all that they may from sentients scattered throughout the Multiverse. Eleos explore the universe in twos, hunting for new and feeding on surprise.
For all their power, the Eleos did not view themselves as superior or other species on the lower evolutionary chain to be inferior. They respected life and refused to even harm it even in their own defense.
