The origins of Earth Transformers vary across universe clusters, ranging from mutations created by exposure to sources of Energon such as the AllSpark to even drones created by Humans that later developed sentience.

Aurex Cluster

Earth Transformers are the descendants of Cybertronians who came to Earth centuries ago aboard the starship Atlantis.

Tyran Cluster

By May 2018, Kinetic Solutions Incorporated had manufactured over 50 man-made, remote-control Cybertronian drones by exploiting the reconfigurable properties of living metal. While individual units such as Stinger and the Oreo Transformer exist, there are four common types of KSI Cybertronians: KSI Sentries, KSI Bosses, Junkheaps, and "Two Heads".

Malgus Cluster

Malgus incarnations of Dinobots, Constructicons, Mini-Cassettes, and other Cybertronians such as Soundwave and Wreck-Gar qualify as Earth Transformers due to starting out as Earth technology before being empowered by the power of the AllSpark. This can either happen via Sari Sumdac's AllSpark Key or fragments of the ancient relic.

Alternate history

Decepticons Tyrannocon Rex and Dilophocon are regarded by the staff at Jurassic Park as "assets", much like the dinosaurs they transform into. Whenever they are "out of containment", Autobots JP93 and JP12 are assigned to return the dinosaurian Decepticons to their containment paddocks.

• The Ancient Decepticons' backstory shares a few notable similarities to that of both the Decepticon Pretenders in the Super-God Masterforce cartoon and the ancient Predacons featured in Transformers: Prime.
• In the preliminary stages of Transformers: Animated's development, any Cybertronians created on Earth (such as Soundwave and the Dinobots) would have been collectively identified as "Constructicons".
• The Jurassic Park-inspired characters featured in the Transformers Collaborative toyline are implied to be Earth Transformers. This is evident by the packaging bios for each two-pack, with the dinosaurian Decepticons being regarded as "assets" by Jurassic Park staff.
