"The dream-beast uses its victim’s longings and desires to trap its prey. The bird at nesting season would see its mate, the fox, prowling for its own prey, would see a helpless rabbit."
―Dick Jarvis

The Dream-beast is a bizarre Martian predator which looks like a mass of black tentacles and lures its prey by psychically projecting a convincing image of what the prey most desires at the moment. This creature is known to prey on the native bird-like Martians. Like most Martian species, they're carbon-based and have features of both plants and animals.
