Dark Truder is the main antagonist of The Zula Patrol series and is the archenemy of the Zula Patrol. He and his sentient toupee Traxie constantly cause trouble across the galaxy, from petty thefts to near disastrous situations, which the Zula Patrol must combat and take care of. Truder dislikes the Zula Patrol, and sometimes specifically targets them and their planet Zula in his villainous activities. He is also the rival to Deliria, whom he mutually hates and try to get one up over.

Appearance[]

Dark Truder is an alien with dark peach skin, which has some dark brown blemishes on it in certain spots. He has eight fingers like Bula, Multo and Zeeter, but he has clawed fingers. His eyes are sunken and are maroon around the edges. He is completely bald, so he usually uses Traxie as a wig (or rarely a mustache), who sits on his head, but her brown hair doesn't match colors with his black eyebrows. Overall, he has an appearance similar to a wrinkly potato.

He wears a purple and green suit with his personal emblem on the left side of the suit. His emblem is a T segmented into three lines, with the lines ending in triangles on both ends.

When he was young, he didn't have as many blemishes on him or as many marks on his mouth. His clothing also was not as long as it is now, thus revealing he has legs.

Personality[]

Truder is described as a "villain's villain", and he loves to prove it. He is rude, egotistical and has a quick temper. Most of the time, Truder is selfish and loves to cause trouble for others in the galaxy, especially for the Zula Patrol. He never thinks for the well-being of others, and can throw temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. At one time, he boasted himself as a three time Villain of the Year winner.

Despite his grumpy nature, Truder is shown to have a soft spot in certain episodes; in Night of the Fweebs, he thought the Fweebs were adorable and immediately returned Polaris, the North Star after realizing that the fuzzy creatures wouldn't be able to go north without her. In Villain of the Year, his plan to steal a galaxy goes awry and he ends up accidentally leaving behind Traxie in his attempt to run from the Zula Patrol. He chose Traxie over the galaxy, though he lost the Villain of the Year to Deliria. He can work with the Zula Patrol on some occasions, but mostly begrudgingly.

History[]

Dark Truder has been defeated by the Zula Patrol many times before the events of the TV series. In the photo album shown in Blubglub, the first picture of him in a younger state doesn't show him with Traxie, implying that they may not be childhood friends, but rather they met at a later date. By the time the photos on the second page he comments on, he has already had to deal with the Zula Patrol. Apparently, the earliest known instance of Truder's villainy was attempting to take over the planet Zontor with a freeze ray, and the second known instance was him invading the Crab Nebula.

Trivia[]

  • He's similar to Dr. Robotnik from the old Sonic the Hedgehog TV series.
  • His name is similar to Darth Vader from the Star Wars franchise. Darth Vader is a play on "Dark Invader" while Dark Truder is a crop of "Dark Intruder" - a similar concept.
  • Another reference is made in "Round and Round We Go" where Truder wears a helmet that looks similar to the headpiece of Vader's armor, during a moment of imagining what clothes he will wear when he becomes ruler of the galaxy.
