Alien Species

Cy-Bugs are Robotic Insectoids inhabited by the world of Hero's Duty.

Biology[]

They are a Race of viral, robotic bug-like creatures that serve as the generic enemies in Hero's Duty. Unlike other characters in the arcade games, Cy-Bugs are not able to tell the difference between the game and real-life, meaning that they are truly malevolent creatures. Their only Instincts are to eat, kill and multiply their swarm, while their greatest weaknesses are beacons of light (Like small Moths). The Soldiers of Hero's Duty remain in constant battle with the bugs, to prevent them from escaping the game, taking over the arcade, and destroying every game in their wake.

Some Cy-Bugs Return in Wreck-it Ralph the Video Game which they Invade Fix-it Felix Jr and Sugar Rush planning to take revenge. The Queen Cy-Bug resides in game Central Station, serving the game's final boss. However, Cy-Bugs do not appear in the 2018 sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet even though they are killed to death. The Cy-Bugs also appear in Disney Infinity 3.0's Toy Box Racing Campaign where they are Background Characters in the Sugar Rush Racing track although they are not enemies.

Appearance[]

They are various bio-robotic insects closely resembling insects, which is a combination of several small insects (ants, dragonflies, beetles, silverfish, mayflies, flies and ladybugs), most notably silverfish. Like all insects, they are instinctive and only have at least 3 motives: eat, kill, multiply, morph, etc. They live in organized groups, attacking in swarms and devouring anything in their path, making them a powerful force to be reckoned with. Because they were created to be a destructive enemy in-game, they are non-sapient and dangerous beings in both game and reality as opposed to be villains who are always really evil in their game. This effectively makes them Computer Viruses if released in the game world.

Notes[]

  • This was unknown if some of the Cy-Bugs were Built
  • Due to the Cy-Bug Homeworld representing in the Triad System, this was theoretically implied that the Triad System could be Located in the Andromeda Galaxy or the NGC 2403 Galaxy
  • Multiple Cy-Bugs were seen in a Candy-based game entitled, Sugar Rush. Which they have additional variants including Candy Corn Cy-Bugs, Peppermint Cy-Bugs, Jawbreaker Cy-Bugs and so on.
